I am an engineer. Today,I used ROCH HIV COMPLE to dect HIVAg/Ab.When i used ethanol as sample, the result was reactive, and the COI was 3.67. Then I changed another new ethanol as the sample, and the result was the same. I want to know  why? Is there Ab in ethanol in ethanol? Thanks!

Thanks, I am also very surperise. I usually use water, ethanol as sample to do exeriments,  when the result was come, I am very shock and fear. Because I usually use this ethanol to soak cotton, and use cotton to press the pinhole. So I am very worried.

So, wait, let me understand this...you're using ethanol as your "sample"?  We would have absolutely NO idea why the test was positive.  With all due respect, if you're the one developing the HIV tests, then YOU should be the one with those answers.

No, there is not HIV virus in ethanol.
