re used finger *****

you know the finger prick tests they do for hiv can they be reused - i ask this as i went for a hiv test and she picked one up the needle never came up the 2nd one again never came up but the 3rd time it did i asked if they were all new and she said the silver part covers the needle am i right in thinking once its gone up so to speak it cannot be pushed back.

You are talking about a lancet, which is used to prick the finger and get a drop of blood. Lancets are never reused in the healthcare setting- ever. No risk.
