Dr.

I had a sexal encounter with the asian masseuse about ten days ago.  She placed a thick saran wrap on my penis and gave me a ** for about 1 minutes.  After we had vaginal sex with the saran wrap on for about 2 minutes.  I made sure that the wrap covered the entire penis and stayed on my penis and the head was never exposed to her vagina.  After it was over the wrap didnt seem to have any tears.  I am nervous about catching hiv from this exposure and the lady did say that she didnt have any STD but who know.  Few days after exposure  I have been feeling fatigue and feeling some throbbing pain underneath my arm and groin area.  I do have to admit I have been pinching and touching those area quite a bit.  If the urethra was never exposed to her vagina was I at risk for HIV?  I just got my PCR DNA test done and will get the results on monday and will test again at 6 weeks.  thank you in advance

I am not sure what sort of barrier she used during your encounter. From the sounds of this, it was impermeable and thus would protecxt you from acquisition of hiv.  Thus, you had a single exposure to a commercial sex worker (CSW).  Your chances of having gotten HIV from this exposure are extraordinarily low.  Here's why:

1,  Chances are, your partner did not have HIV.  Most CSWs do not.
2.  A barrier was used
3.  Your chance of getting HIV, if she was infected and had you not used a barrier is less than one in 1000 per exposure.

As for your symptoms, they are non-specific and unlikely to be due to HIV.

Finally, we do not recommend PCR tests for HIV screening.  There is an increased rate of false positives with them.  Having had one, when the result comes back negative, that is just one more piece of evidence that you do not have HIV.

My assessment- do not worry.  You  have no risk and do not need further testing.  EWH

you cannot post on someones elses thread you ahve to pay for a response by the doctor but whatever is causing spot etc it is not HIV if the condom did not break and that was your only risk you could not have caught HIV.  good luck pay the fee for question if you want doctors answer but it will be same as mine I am sure.

We are getting beyond the scope of this forum.  Indeed there are many reasons for persons having thrush or, for that matter other processes which cause persons' tongues to get coat (thrush syndorme) and most of them are not HIV.  If this is a concern you should discuss with your health care provider.  For a more considered opinion a dentist or oral surgeon might also be helpful.  End of responses.  Take care.  EWH

I got an antibody test done for hiv about 3 weeks ago and came back negative and since than I had one sexual exposure which mentioned above.  I have been noticing white coated tongue that looks thicker than usual and seems to come back faster than usual. can thrush show up so early in the hiv infection (10 days)?  Is this even oral thrush?  I have been suffering post viral fatgue since jan.  can that be a cause of the white coated tongue? No pain or soreness or lesions on tongue.  just the white coat.  Thank you.
