Thank you all. Im not the one Im worried about (Im currently waiting to get tested). It's just that i share a house with a boy who has a quite sore verruca and it seems like a valid entry point for the infection...

Hiv becomes inactive as soon as it is exposed to air and therefore is unable to infect you,if it didn't the whole world would have Hiv.

Many thanks, teak, for your prompt and helpful reply...
So am i correct in thinking that even with the presence of a verruca (which, like herpes, is more receptive to hiv??) the length of time nullifies the risk??even if the emen was in large pools??

No and the question has been asked hundreds of times.

HIV is unable to reproduce outside its living host (unlike many bacteria or fungi, which may do so under suitable conditions), except under laboratory conditions; therefore, it does not spread or maintain infectiousness outside its host.
