Hi Doctor, Thanks for your valuable answer.
Teak takes conservative positions in line with many official agencies. However, I am unaware of any data to support a need to wait 13 weeks after completion of PEP for reliable testing.
I stand by my opinions and advice above. There is no point in discussing it further. Feel free to be tested whenever you wish. This thread is definitely over.
Hi Doctor H. Hunter, i did promise you that i will leave this thread after you reply my last question. But i happen to see and was confused by the medhelp forum regarding testing window period with PEP.
Can you enlighten me, Teak in themedhelp forum is very firm that a 13 weeks test is conclusive, but if i had taken PEP, then the 3 months window period should only start after the last dose of my PEP. So if that is true, then my 3.5months - 1 month of PEP is only 2.5 months. Is my test consider conclusive? What is your opinion for this,my anxiety is driving me crazy.
See my original reply, paragraph 2. I see no reason to repeat myself. Did you think I might have changed my mind?
Hi doctor i just need one last answer from you before i leave this thread. Do you think another test at 6 months is necessary? Pls advice
These questions duplicate those on your recent thread, which Dr. Hook terminated because you kept seeking repeat answers with different words.
Even with PEP, your negative test result at 3.5 months (98 days) is conclusive. You did not catch HIV and there is no need for additional testing.
There will be no follow-up comments or discussion. There is no information you could provide that would change my opinion or advice. Also please note that MedHelp permits a maximum of 2 questions every 6 months on the professionally moderated forums. Any new question before next March will be deleted without reply, and without refund of the posting fee. The purpose of the rule is to prevent domination of the forum by anxiety driven questions.
