I just had to find out about this

As you all know, I tested at 12 weeks and 6 days and it came back negative.  My doctor told me today that he wants to test me for syphilis and all of the other diseases to include HIV again.  I told him that I had just tested for HIV at the mark stated above and he said he really do not trust the home HIV kits.

I also wanted to ask that after you have a cold and start feeling symptoms of being tired, etc, doesn't that mean that sercovention has occured and antibodies can be found in the blood?

If I took percocet in Oct because of dental surgery, would that have an effect on my test being negative?

Why would he not trust the HomeAccess kits?

Isn't my test reliable to say that I am HIV negative to about 99.5%?

Here is the answers to your questions:
Yes
You don't know if you are seroconverting, unless you have had an HIV test and you test positive. HIV has no specific symptoms and not all people have symptoms during seroconversion.
At the time you took your test as long as you are not on antirejection drugs for a transplant or on chemo or a chronic IV drug abuser then your test is conclusive. No further tests needed.
Yes, for the reasons I've already indicated.

No, i do not have any of those.  I had a rash break out on my back and my eye shows signs of uveitis.  I had a cold in Oct and figured that that would be the sign for serconvesion, therefore i was wanting to ensure that my secorvension had occured and not went past the 3 mth window like they say online that some people do.  Have you ever heard of anyone going past that window?

You had a 3 month HA test...right?
It was negative.....right?
Conclusion:  NEGATIVE.

Seroconversion is not a concern for you. Let it go there guy.
Past 90 days, ONLY if you have some other health issues you are dealing with (Immune disorders, cancer, drug use IV, etc.) These I hioghly doubt pertain to you.....or do they?

Teak, ith all of the good info the guys gave me up top, do you think my 90 day test is accurate of me not having HIV?

How does one know when they are serconventing?

At my timeline there should have been antibodies to be able to detect right?

Have you ever heard of someone taking more than 90 days to show signs of antibodies?

Thanks in advance for the info

And ,no, percocet, the painkiller would have no adverse effect on HIV testing, btw.

I have to comment on this one...

Most Dr.'s are really not up-to-date on HIV knowledge/recent info.
Chris is right. Home Access is indeed a valuable assessment with testing for HIV like any antobody testing instrument at 12 weeks. Most doctors do not deal with HIV on a day-to-day basis., therefore they lack knowledge in this area.
It would really not surprise me that there are more people with HIV knowledge on here than most doctors.
Besides, Home Access is FDA approved and regulated, and has been around, I believe for 10+ years. But you can always check their website regardless.
Not to mention Dr. Bob does consider Home Access a valid testing assessment as well as Dr. H+H.

My personal opinion, do not listen to the MD you went to regarding that vital piece of info.

So my test is good and I can sit at the 99.5% sure that I do not have HIV?  Some sites say it takes 12 weeks to serconvent, that is why i wanted to know how a person would know if they serconvented (flu like symptoms, fever, etc).  Thanks for your assistance.  I was all good to go with my results until my doc told me this.
