why do my feet burn so bad?

So I know everyone here thinks there is no chance I have HIV but I can't find anything else that would be the cause of my feet continuously burning and the tingling I get in my hands and feet. My neurologist said its post infectious neuropathy but when I told my pcp he said he had never heard of it.

What is wrong with me? Wouldn't it make sense that something only as potent as HIV would cause this?

I'm lost and my feet burn so bad right now! This really sucks

I have thrombocytosis. also known as essential thrombocythemia or essential thrombocytosis. It is a myeloproliferative disorder causing my platelets to be very high. My feet, toes , and fingers itch and burn very badly. Get your platelet count checked. I had a heart attack at 34 yrs. old and then openheart surgery a year later.

Not gonna answer.

I suggest no one else does either.

You have your answers, keep working with your psychiatrist. And keep away from the internet:)

well that really doesn't help. i was finally convincing myself that the antibiotics they gave me in the hospital was what made me feel better...so much for that. you're probably right - just the tylenol bringin my fever down. My right lymph node under my jaw was pretty sore this entire time...is it common to have sore lymph nodes with ARS?

2 tynenol or 2 ibubrufin tablet will do the same magic of dropping your fever from104 to 99 in 2 hours.

As doctor HHH told several times, don't look for ARS symptoms. Same symptoms could occur due to several other reasons. Do a antibody test after 7 weeks and be convince that you don't have HIV and what you are seeing could be due to hypo thyroidism or something like that

Well, if it's Guillain Barre syndrome than that's an autoimmune disease and autoimmune diseases slow down the production of HIV antibodies which wouldn't make my 6 week negative conclusive right? Atleast this is what the lady on the AIDS hotline from Massachusetts told me. I just wanna make sure I cover all the bases and make sure I know when my test is conclusive so I can finally stop testing and stop wondering whether or not I have HIV despite my very low risk.

I'm not gonna lie to you all...seeing a shrink has helped SO MUCH! My problem is I come home and my dumb ass gets on the internet again and finds scenarios that seem just like mine and I begin to convince myself yet again that I have HIV and just have yet to seroconvert. How true is it that if one experiences ARS that their elisa antibody test would 100% be positive within 2 weeks of onset of symptoms? because that's what Dr. H said. Then I begin to convince myself that maybe I was coinfected with HIV and Hep C because I got it through the strippers blood and therefore that causes yet another delay to antibody production. Then, I tell myself that I had a very bad bacterial/viral infection and whatever antibiotics they gave me in the hospital seemed to work VERY WELL in the matter of a couple of hours as my fever dropped from 104 to 99 - but then I tell myself that it was probably just the tylenol dropping my fever considering I had the fever again the next day. And that this neuropathy is a side effect of a very potent virus like HIV - I mean what normal virus/bacterial infection would cause nerve damage? ARE YOU KIDDING ME! Anxiety is such a *****!

What do you guys think?

Well if its guillain barre that's an auto immune disease and auto immune diseases slow the progression of HIV antibody production which wouldn't make my 6 week conclusive right? I just wanna make sure I cover all the bases and make sure I know when my test is conclusive and to stop testing.

FOR GODS SAKE!  LEARN TO GOOGLE!  READ THE LAST SENTENCE OF THIS CAREFULLY.  IT WAS FOUND UNDER "CAUSES OF PERIPHERAL NEUROPATHY".

"When damage occurs to several nerves, the cause frequently is diabetes. At least half of all people with diabetes develop some type of neuropathy. Other common causes include alcoholism, inherited disorders, amyloidosis and a deficiency of certain vitamins, especially B vitamins.

Other causes of peripheral nerve damage may include:

Other diseases. These include autoimmune diseases, such as lupus and rheumatoid arthritis, kidney disease, liver disease and an underactive thyroid (hypothyroidism).
Exposure to poisons. These may include some toxic substances and certain medications
