Am I having a heart attack?

Can a heart attack go on for 10 hours? How can I tell if it's a pulled muscle of heart attack?  I am a 23yr old female, I dont smoke, but I have an echocardiogram every 2 yrs to check my valves as Marfan's syndrom is in my family.  So far it's been good, I'm probably due for one soon.  At 12:30 this afternoon I got a pain in my chest behind my left breast and it is still going at 8pm!  It's scaring me for some reason even though I have chest pain frequently, I usually tell myself it's a pulled muscle but it usually doesnt last this long.  I've had ECG's many times and never anything to show up.  I dont want to waste time going to the hospital for nothing.  Any advice?

I would not hesitate in getting checked out. Any cardiologist should recognize your features and give you a thorough examination!

Please see a doc and be well,

I am 5'9", 115lbs, armspand longer than my height by a bit, nearsighted, high palate, long hands, chest pains and shortness of breath.  I was told I may have mild marfans (if that's possible)  Since there's no real test that's all I got. My cardiologist has sadly died since my work up several years ago.  I should really get an appointment with a new one.  I wonder about angina and how stuff like that, I used to eat very unhealthy foods (fast foods), still do but less often.  I wonder what kind of shape my arteries are in.  I'm only 23 though so Doctors often turn me away when i presetn with chest pains.  I am SUPER stressed right now (I'm a grdaute student at the end of the semester) so I know that's not helping, just don't want to damage my heart.

Do you remember pulling a muscle in your chest? Do you have the features of someone with Marfan's syndrome, i.e. very tall and long hands?

Remember that it is better to be safe than sorry. I have blockages and angina constantly. It feels like a low burning, dull pain that radiates straight from my heart. Women many times experience angina differently than men.

I wish that I could be of more help. Be smart,

Jack
