Recovery after triple bypass

My husband had a triple bypass about 6 weeks ago. He is very discouraged because he was so active working 16 hour shifts as an executive chef now he is only walking short distances. My question is when do you start to feel good enough for regular activity again? We have 6 children under the age of 16 and they miss their father doing stuff with them and I know he misses them too..
Thabk you for your time

6 weeks!  Give the man time and tell him do not get discouraged.  The kids can do quiet things with dad. They are lucky he is alive and when he's up to it, he'll do active things.  Give him at least 12 weeks to start feeling alot better and by 6 mos, he'll be back to normal.  It seems far away, but his body has been through alot andthe time will fly.
