Angiogram Report

On 07-04-2011, I had an Angiogram done. The report is as under :

LMCA : Nrmal
LAD    : Ectasia of proximal part. 50% - 60% tandem lesions after D1 & D2. 70% lesion in distal part.
             D1  : Small
             D2  : Small, normal
LCX     : Totally occluded in mid part.
             OM1 : Good size. 70% - 80% lesion in proximal part.
RCA     : 60% - 70% lesion in proximal part of PDA
LIMA     : Normal
Renals   : Normal
Final Impression : TVCAD

I underwent this test after I had some pain in the left region of chest above heart. After this test, I started to have lots of medicines including the medicines for BPH & HBP also. But the occassional pain on exercise or exertion was there as usual. Then I stopped all medicines except medicines for BPH & HBP since last 10-11 months. Still the condition is same.

I would like to to know that even if after taking nitogycerines & aspirins and cholestrol blockers, I was having same problem and after sttopping those medicines, I am having the same condition. Why should I take those medicines ???
I am 58 year old now and in excellent health otherwise. My reports on Sugar, Lipid Profile, Kidney, Liver are all within prescribed limit or slightly over somewhere.

I have a serious doubt on the diagnosis of Doctors in Calcutta, India. They are a greedy lot.

Any nedical expert on this circle may please advise.

Thanks

I'm wondering if they can open up the mid Lcx with a stent or two and perhaps the OM1? I'm sure if the LCx was opened, you should develop more collateral feeds. The OM1 comes off the Lcx anyways. None of the other blockages seem overly large to me.

p.s. I am not a medical expert. Just someone with a medical history that shows some similarity with yours.

It looks to me that your condition, 4 years ago, was very serious (triple vessel disease with severe blockages).
That you survived for 4 year with medication only deserves congratulations.
That your condition did not worsen over the last 4 years, as you say, is probably a result from your medication.

Stopping taking medicine is NOT a good idea, especially if you do this without consulting your doctor. Perhaps you will not notice effects immediately, but there is a big chance that you will in a couple of months and then progression could be irreversible or even lethal.

I don't know if doctors in Calcutta are greedy, but even if they are, let them take a little advantage of you. Your prime objective is your health and not your money, isnt it?
