Complications post bypss.

My 80-year-old mother had triple-bypass on 11 days ago. She was moved to a nursing home to recuperate five days later.  Now she's starting to develop congestion.  Is this a sign that she's going into CHF?  Her activity has been limited due to pain, etc.  Could this congestion be from inactivity with subsequent shallow breathing?

Of course I live 150  miles away so I get all info secondhand.  Pneumonia really hasn't been mentioned, but that was what I was thinking.  Her doctor just wants to continue her on all the meds she's been on (not sure if there is an antibiotic in there or not).  No one seems too concerned!  Of course the family is because mom has never really been sick in her life.  She's had hypertension for years, but well-controlled.  I don't know.  I'm driving there tonight and dreading what I'm walking into.

It could be pneumonia - that is very common in nursing homes due to inactivity.

There's no way of knowing from our standpoint.  What are her doctors saying?

I hope all is well.
