I get the same thing, especially when coming off the treadmill... i call it "sea legs" LOL.. Its not quite dizziness to me though, its more of, a change in perception, as when im on the treadmill, i accomidate myself to running and going nowhere, then once i step off, im actually going somewhere! I dont know if this helps! Are you getting vertigo? Or do you feel like actual syncope?? I know when ive had a hard workout, its very common for me to feel nauseated, or even get sick if i push myself too hard.
coming to a stop after forward motion exercise whether stationary or in actual motion relative to the ground will cause such sensations.....
Now, if you are doing a static isotonic exercise (ie weight lifting) and you finish and are dizzy that could be another story.
Also, if when you are dizzy it is consistent (meaning that you don't feel dips or drops in you levelness in your head) that is pretty consistent with the sensation of forward motion exercise abrupt stopping....
If you notice after it a short time that you get episodes or dips like your body is feeling like it is dropping down an elevator shaft.........then it could be a lack of oxygen to the brain which is tied into the consistancy of your heart pumping blood properly...
Also......don't rule out an inner ear infection from a virus....they can hang on for a while too..............
My suggestion is get it checked out by the doctor and if he isn't concerned about it then monitor the situation carefully in the future and return to him if it changes or gets worse.........
A nice recovered slow consistent heartbeat a few mins after exercising is a good sign that things should be fine with your heart...........but then again.....I'm not a doctor.......
Thanks to you both :)
It's not that elevator thing (though elevators mess me up pretty bad too...I feel like I'm still on one for five minutes after I get out of it - like I said I have balance/dizziness problems). What I get is just a crazy feeling, almost like my head is too full and there's pressure behind my eyes and when I move my eyes everything else moves two times for every one time I actually do. It's quite unpleasant. It only happens when I stop. As long as I'm moving, I have some palpitations (PACs) but otherwise I feel fantastic.
If that rambling made any sense.
