With global hypokinesis there is poor function throughout the heart. The EF is a measurement of the heart's functionality, and normal EF is 55-75% indicating that is the amount of blood pumped into circulation with each heartbeat. EF50-55 is slightly less than what is considered normal and should not be problematic with symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pain, muscle fatigue, etc.
Regurgitation is leakage or some backward flow of blood. Mild, trace regurgitation is not considered medically significant, but possibly the accumulative effect of all minor inefficiencies slightly weakens contractions of the left ventrical.
The recommended dose of Pindolol is 5mg 3 or 4 times a day or a single dose of 15 to 20mg single dose. The regimen should be no problem at a low dose, and it is doubtful that is a problem causing global hyperkinesis (if global hyperkinesis is a problem and generally speaking it should be asymptomatic...another test may put your EF in the normal range, it is an estimate, and it varies as does the heartbeat and blood pressure).
