Hi Well I can relate to a lot of your symptoms: "walking up a flight of stairs. I have had years of issues of shortness of breath, palpitations, and light headedness. On a regular basis I have fatigue, cold extremities, slight intake of salt and I feel slight swelling in my feet, and tachycardic upon exertion". My blood pressure is normal most times now due to meds. But when I cut grass or hoe the garden, etc. it climbs to 168/108, if I get lightheaded I rest. My EKG's have not been normal; but, I get where your coming from.
Momto3 is totally right on it when she says that try not to worry. It will just add to your stress. Trust me. Make the appointment for the cardiologist and go from there. There is a lot of people on here that truly care and have had to vent thereselfs. I'm one. LOL. Bottom line they were; and, are there for you.
With me it turned out that it wasn't really heart related sorta at all. I just like everyone here so I stick around. I have minor issues.
Take care and let us know how your appointment goes.
Hi Tonita,
Try not to worry. It will just add to your stress. Try focusing on something you enjoy (afternoon nap, good movie, ice cream, visit with a friend) unitlyour appointment. Also, while you're waiting, jot down any questions that come to mind. It really helps to go to the appointment with a list. That way, you won't get preoccupied and forget something that's been bothering you.
Your symptoms can be from a lot of things, including cardiac problems and anxiety. Normal EKGs are great! One step at a time....Do you tend to worry? (Lots of us do...)
I'm sorry you're feeling lousy, but you're wise to go for the appointment and take it one step at a time. Remember, try not to worry. We're here if you want to talk, ask questions, vent, etc.
Your BP is on the low normal side and perhaps that is a reason you tend to have cold extremities, lightheadedness, and fatigue...Just a thought, it may not be that at all. The swelling could be from the change in weather...Lots of people notice some swelling in the warmer weather. Have you ever been told you have any cardiac problems?
