Applications for financial assistance can be overwhelming.
Do not get frustrated.
Take it question by question and answer the best you can.
Hi Bob, I hope you are doing better. Take one day at a time, it's all we have. The disability seems to work for some and not all. My sister was 46 when she passed away. She was terminally ill. She applied and was also turned down. Here's the thing, you can not work at all. You are either 100% disabled or you are not. In your case you are disabled. Someone wrote you a message above where they said they where working, Maybe it depends on what state you live in. Obtain a lawyer and don't give up, be patient and you will win your case. It is all a process. Each case is different. If you have a doctor behind you, you have a better chance of winning. My brother is bipolar 1 and so was my sister my brother won his disability case and my sister got nothing and is actually worse than him, but he had a psychiatrist sign a letter for him. This is were the system does work. I'm just saying that no matter how long it takes for you to get disability; it will happen. Let them take as long as they want to. Doctors don't care if you are stripped from everything health to no home to no food. Know wonder there are so many homeless people. I will pray for you Bob. My sister that was bipolar 1 is the 46 year old sister who died. Find a good lawyer off the tv, that handles disability cases. Don't give up, Bob. Good luck and i hope you feel better.
i applied for ss disability on oct. 8 2007...was approved on jan. 10 2008 and was working part-time at that time......you can e-mail me privately if you would like and i will give you the scuttlebutt as much as possible

My father has had 2 strokes and tried applying for SS Disability since he has no use of his left hand. After fighting with them for 2 years he went and hired an attorney. My father got all his disabilty from the time that he first applied. His doctors were great with filling out paperwork but it didn't matter to SS. He had to go to hearings and everything. Once he got the attorney it was settled in about 3-4 months. I watched him try to do it on his own, I think unless you are paralyzed or hooked up to life support they are going to deny you. Good luck to you and if have any questions please don't hesitate to ask me, I can always ask my dad for you!

Yes, a lawyer is the way to go. My mom had to. I applied after my first heart attack and was turned down because I was still working. I had to work to pay my bills while I waited on a response. It's just not the easy thing we think. The money comes out of our checks real easy. Just impossible to ever see. I have to work until I am 68 to be able to be eligible. That's another 13 years. I am blessed that I can run this company for a couple out of their home.
Doing well, thanks.
The people I've heard speak of the process said, an attorney is the best way to go.'
Good Luck!
Hope you're feeling better.
HI HOW ARE YOU DOING ? I HAVE HEARD MANY HORROR STORIES AND I POSTED THIS HERE HOPING TO BE ABLE TO SPEAK WITH SOMEONE WHO HAS ACTUALLY GONE THROUGH THE PROCESS. . .
THANKS
BOB
Hi Bob,
I've have heard many times, an attorney is the way to go. They are accustomed to the system and know how to navigate the "treacherous waters." I've read where people have tried and tried on their own, eventually hired an attorney and finally got an approval.
