Water retention

I have Aortic Stenosis and regurgitation.  This past year I have been noticing an increase in fluid retention. Can this be a symptom of heart failure?  I do watch my sodium intake, I drink a lot of water, eat healthy and exercise 5x/wk 45--75 min.  I have my yearly eco scheduled the end of this month and will discuss it then, but would appreciate any feedback and comments.

Thank You

I had an episode of heart failure, and that caused pulmonary and peripheral edema.  The instructions post hospitaliztion was to weigh myself every morning and if there was an increase of 3-4lbs. that would signify heart failure.  This would indicate a quick rise in water retension would be heart related...a gradual increase that you suggest may not be a heart problem...for some people excessive drinking of water under certain circumstances can be problematic.
