The article is becoming more and more interesting. The Pulmonary Specialist read to me the report from the Cardiologist. I was surprized to learn not only do I have Tricuspid regurgitation but also MVP and a slightly enlarged right and left heart. Why wouldn't the cardiologist be so honest? Anyway, it makes sense with the thyroid. Why else would I get such a thing. Heart issues don't run in my family that I know of and I have tried to eat right and exercise all my life. Hum?
I checked out this web. site and its like they are talking about me.. So many of the tyroid issues they are discussing are things that not only now are relevant but things I have experienced most of my life. Thanks. I signed up for their newsletter, but how does one get their doctor to see there might be more to it than just tyroid med. and another med for anxiety or whatever as they are separate conditions not related in any way?
Joyce,
I just shared this link on another thread I was replied to on and thought you might also find it interesting. It is about the connection of autoimmune thyroid disease to Mitral Valve Prolapse.
See it here:

It's titled- 'Strong Association of Thyroid Disease to MVP'
I do not know much about this area; just learning, but I was recently diagnosed with moderate tricusid regurgitation ( Leaking values - heart mummur). I really did not get much out the cardiologist. He referred me back to the Pulmonary Specialist. ?? I am wondering about the connection with autoimmune sys. I have had thyroid issues for years. It tends to run in our family. Family member seem to have thyroid disorders or diabetes (which is also an autoimmune disease). An Echo also showed increased Pulmonary Pressures but a recent heart cath. proved that to be false at least at a resting heart rate. I had shortness of breath (or thats what it felt like and still feels like sometimes) that is why I started seeing them all to begin with. Sounds like a lot of people are searching for answers on these boards. I try to keep upbeat about it all though and keep smiling.
