Increased heart rate

What causes my husband to have an increased pulse rate, but low blood pressure, with a severe headache & bright redness to his face & neck after eating?

My husband got bloodwork done and his thyroid is very low. The doctor even predicted that it would be the thyroid so I guess he was right. Thanks for the input.

As a matter of interest, what is the rate after eating? and blood pressure?

The symptoms can be due to a dietary issue, dehydration, thyroid, medication, etc. But there could be a serious heart condition because an abnormally fast heart rate can also lower blood pressure. With a rapidly contracting ventricles, the ventrical does not have time to fill maximally with blood before the each contraction, and the amount of blood that is pumped decreases in spite of the faster heart rate.

Your husband should consult with a doctor to rule out any serious medical condition.  Thank you for sharing, and if you have any further questions or comments, you are welcome to respond.  Take care,

Ken
