Left thigh pain and swollen ankle. Blood clot?

25 Male. I was recently diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve. My cardiologist put me on Metoprolol. For the past week or so, I've had a lot of pain in my left thigh and my left ankle is swollen. I'm paranoid I might have a blood clot. Im also having a lot of back pain, which I guess probably isn't related. I mentioned it to my primary, not my cardiologist, who blew it off.Should I worry?

I don't have atrial fibrillation as far as I know, though I do have symptoms of it. But it didn't show up while I was being examined. They did a 24 hour heart monitor, echo, and echo stress test. Only thing the doc found was the bicuspid aortic valve. She did say I had some leakage though. As in blood flowing back into my heart. But I haven't had any accident. I'm just have localized pain in my left thigh. That coupled with the swollen ankle and stiff calves made me worry.

Check on the publicized side-effects. I know Calcium Channel Blockers can cause swelling and have had some in my ankle.  This has mostly passed, that is I still take CCB and the swelling is not noticeable to my eye.  Beta Blockers may have a similar problem....I take BB too.

You didn't post anything that makes me think "clot".  Do you suffer from atrial fibrillation, or have you suffered some physical accident that could have caused internal bleeding?

If not, stop worrying is my suggestion.
