Usually if the pain is affected by movement or position it is not heart related

Lisa,

When did the pain appear?  What were you doing in the day or so before it appeared?  Is it brand new or has it been going on for a time..or coming and going.  I often get pain such as you describe, usually after I have done some unusual physical exertion.  Based on the little you say, I also would think it is most likely a pulled muscle, but if you are concerned enough to ask at a forum such as this, then you should probably discuss with your physician just in case.  At least that way you won't sit and worry you have something serious.

Lisa most heart related pain occurs above the heart or to the left side of the chest. You may be right in that you have pulled a muscle or have lung inflammation, pleurisy, or a lymph node infection. Do you have congestion or a cough? I would see my PCP. Best of health to you.

Best I could do with the information at hand.  What would be your diagnosis?

Wow jim62, your answer above is so easily understood. One could surmise that you may be joking around with worried people, which isn't a very nice thing to do.

I'd say it probably is, to about a 90% probability.
