Mitral valve regurg

I have heart palps and fluttering that often feels like a big fish flopping around inside my chest. When this occurs it takes my breath until it stops then I feel the need to deep breathe to get it back in rythum. I am on Nadolol 20mg daily. I feel that my symptoms (especially the fluttering and palps) are getting worse. What would cause that?

I was told that I have Mitral valve prolapse with regurg. I have been on Nadolol for almost 4 years. It just seems that here lately the fluttering is occuring more often. I also have palpitations and fast heart rate at times. It just feels like there might be more going on then before.
