Operation Open Heart

My father 73 years old and suffers from:

1- right coronary
small with mid 50% stenosis - co - dominant

2- left coronary
calcified left main - The prediagonal segment of LAD is calcified with eccentric complex 80% stenosis & grossly normal distal vessel .
The premarginal segment of circumflex
is calcified with grossly normal irregularities .

3- aortic valve
mild calcific aortic stenosis & grade IV aortic regurgitation .

4- Lung fibrosis  , And also suffers from shortness of breath without chest pain .

The opinion of the doctor : he needs surgery .

My question :

1- Is there a danger of the operation with a pulmonary fibrosis?

2- Is there a risk of stopping the heart during the process and rely on heart and lung machine ? Especially in this age .

With the greetings and appreciation for you to do humanitarian work.

Thank you, my dear,
However, the Committee rejected a medical operation,
Reason: the weakness of the heart muscle!!!

If there is to be surgery, there would be repair or replacement of the aorta valve and a bypass of the LAD.  Right coronary would not require any treatment.

Pulmonary fibrosis, depending on the severity of scar tissue would be a determinant for degree of risk post operation.  Many individuals following open heart surgery have a memory problem for about 6 months post operation.  Open heart surgery puts the individual on heart and lung machine so the fibrosis is probably not an issue during the operation.

The main problem with the heart is the valve orifice and that can be corrected without open heart surgery (sometimes).  The aorta regurgitation can be the cause of shortness of breath as well as the pulmonary issue.  What is the operation expectation.

A coronary bypass only treats the symptom (usually chest pain) and is not any cure.  It is possible to avoid open heart surgery and treated with medication.  I have completely blocked LAD (collateral vessel bypass) and don't need open heart surgery.
