Hi everyone iam new to all this ,iam 23 years old i was pregnant once and ended up in a natural misscarrige at 8 weeks it was a spontanouse misscarrige the baby never devoloped a heart beat. well this is my secound pregnacy and iam now 10 weeks and we heard our baby's heart beat (so HAPPY) well now about 2 weeks ago i went to da hospital as an emergency! when i arrived my heart rate was at its max of 268 bpm they had to give me this medicine that would stop my heart for a few secounds and then restart it again to beat normal about the 3 try of the medicine it work my hear rate droped from 268 to 70 bpm i was so scared for my life and my unborn baby, now iam told i have SVT an would have to be on a betta blocker once ian 12 weeks, but iam so scare i dnt want to be on meds an my question is could SVT prevent me from havind a natural birth and is their any natural way to control my SVT attacks?
im 27 and have suffered with svt since i was about 8. i have only just been to the doctors about this. my first child was still born at 5 months, as he had been very under nourished and was not getting enough oxygen. then i fell pregnant 2 years later, and this time gave birth at 5 months to a little boy who was born at just 375grams.( under one lb.) he had to be delivered early for the same reason not recieving what he needed.
i just cant see that when i suffer from these svt attacks that my heart is pumping the adaquit amounts into the placenta. as when an attack occurs your heart is going so fast it cannot pump suffichantly. i would just like to say that my little boy is now two and is healthy and well. also please excuse the spelling mistakes.
I've had SVT since I was 16. I had two pregnancies, and though I did have an increase in frequency of the SVT, it was minor and caused no harm to me or my (very healthy) babies. Another pregnancy is something you can both look forward to, unless your wife has some sort of structural heart disease.
You do mean it's only life threatening if you do have an abnormal structured heart...
svt will not cause death to your wife or your baby.. It is only life threatening if you do not have a structurally abnormal heart.. She could even take beta blockers through the pregnancy to be safe.. If she pregnant right now? if not, I might suggest considering an ablation. If successful (and its usually over a 98% success rate) its a total cure, she'll never have svt or have to take medication for svt again
