Tomato craving

Good day,

I had a mild heart attack about a week ago and are on chol meds and disprin.  After my heart attack I started with this instant craving for tomatoes.  I will eat a whole packet of 10 per day.  Is this ok or bad for my body?  Why would this be I never ate raw tomatoes before is it something that my body might need?

Low dopamine = cravings.  There are many reasons for low dopamine but one reason is stress. Google "Naturally Suppress Cravings With the Dopamine Diet" to watch the 3 part video.

Your craving is a well-known phenomenon called "pica," and strangely enough, most picas (even a craving for ice, which is pretty common) are related to iron deficiency.  Here's an article about it:

Eating as much tomato stuff as you are doing will not hurt you--although there have been reports of skin discoloration from the pigments in carrots and tomatoes--but you should report this to your doctor so he can check your iron levels.
