Had Heart ultrasound done echo wasnt the same as the first one

Hello Every one, i just had a heart ultrasound done.. had it done b4 but she did something they didnt do b4.. after she check the heart she put the ultrasound stick rite in the middle ofmy stomach and told me to hold my breat twice.. why would that be done.... i got it done cus.. i feel my heart tachycardi and have bad chest pain had ablation in may of 08 for tachycardia... so we are checking to see wats going on now but that was strange if any one can tell..appreciate any info  thank you

I would assume the ascending, aorta arch and descending aorta was viewed and looking for tortousity as well. Take care.

The procedure in question was done to take images of the ascending aorta.  The aorta can develop an an aneurysm (bulge of the vessel wall...can rupture if serious) and stenosis (narrowing of the vessel...can block blood flow).
