I have had moderate to severe mitral valve regurgitation for more than 7 years without any symptoms.  Its hard for me to believe I have 40-60% backflow without symptoms such as shortness of breath, chest pains, etc.  But all tests over the years and different techs giving an echo show the same results.

Mild regurgitation  60 percent > 0.3 cm2

Thanks for your question, take care,

Ken
