can you get myocarditis or cardiomyopathy twice?

hi my daughter has myocarditis and dilated cardiomyopathy but completely recovered within a year what are the chances of these returning. she was 11 months whehn diagnoised and is now 3 years old. she is still seen 6 monthly by the cardiologyst and is not on any medication now she was takeing digoxen spirolactone fursemisde and captropil. her bp at the moment is around 70/40 and heart rate is 100bpm. she was in end stage heart failure which now they say she has completly recovered from. i worry about her alot when she gets ill its hard to know when to panic. any advice would be great. thank you

lauralee68 I'm so sorry to hear about your Son, he was so young.  My heart really goes out to you, I can't begin to imagine the devastation it caused you.

I would like you and everyone to know my son had this happen to him when he was 7 months he just turned 2 they told me he was fully recoverd and just passed away on the 31st of March he again had a virus attack his heart. I hope this will never happen to anyone else He was a happy sweet boy.

The short answer is yes, but it depends on a lot of things, like what caused it.  I'm assuming a virus since you mentioned myocarditis.  The chances are really really slim.  Being that she sees a cardiologist and you now know what to look for, I wouldn't stress too much.

I'm glad to hear of her full recovery, that is awesome :)
