chest discomfort

i have frequent chest pains (for the last 6 years) without any occassion and reason. after or before meal, resting or working or sleeping. done at least 60 ECGs, 4 echo, 6 TMT (TMT indicates false positive as the specialist say it reverts to normal very soon on termination of exercise and echo reports are absolutely normal). I exercised for 11 to 14.8 min (on different occassions) and reached THR without any discomfort. All doctors say its atypical chest pain and is noncardiac. i weigh 45 kgs and a nonsmoker, nonalcoholic, and my blood chemistry is all well within limits. iam convinced ofcourse. doctors at CHRISTIAN MEDICAL COLLEGE AT VELLORE INDIA said its due to muscle inflammation, (they conducted an echo and a chest x ray with my previous TMT reports to support).but still the pain scares me. should I go for an angiography. how about a 64 slice CT angiography. does the contrast gel used, has any detrimental effects on the body, especially the kidneys.

yes, get an angiogram. that is the only definitive answer, and many times echo's are wrong. i see this often in my line of work, the risks of not having one done outweigh a diagnostic angiogram. did by chance they say you have an irregular heart rhythm? sometimes people may experience some sort of discomfort w/ certain arrhythmias. also, try changing or diet some, maybe try a more bland diet and see if that helps to rule our heart burn or other gastro~ issues.

With that much testing coming back normal there isn't really much indication for further testing except your symptoms, which appear not to be cardiac.  Have you tried anything for relief from a muscle pain standpoint?  Are they doing anything to help you manage your pain?
