crushing severe chest pain after orgasm

I'm so embarrassed to even post this but way more embarrassed to go to my Dr. about it who is a good friend of mine. But i've been having really bad chest pains for the past 2 months. I've also been feel really nauseated through out the day and I never ever feel that way, not even when i'm pregnant or have the flu. ANd NO i'm not pregnant. I double checked that to be sure. Back to the chest pain, I get the chest pain when there's nothing going on, no stress, nothing exciting. Just a quiet moment at home and it comes on and I feel like I am having a hard time breathing it's so crushing. At first i've been brushing it off as anxiety because I have been helping several family members with some of their problems and watching their little ones lately so I thought maybe it was coming on because of that. Either way, the thing that is worrying me and my actual question is during intercourse with my husband, right when i orgasm, the second it happens I have crushing chest pain, almost to the point that I can't breath. I have to push my husband off and roll to my side and deep breath for 5-10 minutes and I feel like i'm going to throw up. Anyone else experienced this....? I've never had this before, just recently since the chest pain has started.

If your symptoms occur  with orgasm as well as with any other strenuous exercise, it might be necessary to be evaluated for the presence of any underlying coronary artery disease.  Having intercourse can be a highly rigorous cardiovascular work-out that should be interpreted in the same context as exercise.  This would require a thorough history and physical examination and basic routine testing such as an EKG, etc.  If you have multiple risk factors (hypertension, hyperlipidemia, history of diabetes or smoking), your doctor might suggest a functional test such as a stress test.

You should not be embarrassed to talk to the doctor, sex is a natural activity.  It sounds like Angina to me as well, but there could be many conditions that cause chest pains.  The link to the "Differentiating Cardiac from Non-cardiac Chest Pain PDF" provided above explains many of the symptoms relating to the various types of problems that can contribute to chest pain.  The previously mentioned PDF is an excellent document for understanding some of the different conditions associated with chest pain.

The best advice that we can give you is to 'See A Doctor'!

Take a note and keep a record of your symptoms and anything that you feel may help medical staff in the diagnosis, what brings the pain on, what eases the pain and what you are doing.
