ejection fraction is finally up!!

Hello to all
Just an update on Amber...  we got her ef number back last week and we are happy to report that it is now up to 48%    This is the highest it has been since her initial diagnosis of dilated cardiomyopathy three years ago.   At the time of diagnosis it was 32%.    It seems that the addition of digoxin to her regimen is what has done the trick, as it has significantly lowered her amount of SVT     pac's are still very frequent, but as long as her ef is improved I am a very happy camper....             Thanks to all            Dawn

thanks everyone....  to ireneo..  she is actually doing really well.. she has lost weight and is able to walk and ride her bike up to the dollar store (which is one of her favorite things whenever she gets a few bucks)    she still has days when she doesn't feel well, she comes home tired some days when it is hot and we are careful not to let her spend too much time in the sun.  she still has some issues but we are careful and now that her ef has held for a year we don't panic...  now we can focus on getting amber's new condo ready for her to move into in september....   thanks all        dawn

Good news and wish for further improvement as well for Amber.

Amy,
I was taking digoxin.  And here is a message from Mark & Associates, Attorneys at Law.

If you took Digitek, Cardoxin, Lanoxin or Lanoxicaps and suffered from overdose, it could be due to taking defective tablets containing twice the active ingredient as approved. Symptoms of digoxin overdose may include any of the following: nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite, diarrhea, confusion, seizures, hallucinations, light "halos" around objects, green or yellow vision, fatigue, irregular heartbeats, and abnormally fast or slow heartbeats.

Brand names Digitek, Cardoxin, Lanoxin, and Lanoxicaps use the underlying generic digoxin.  It is alleged Digitek over dosed their medication.

Dawn Hi.  So very glad to hear that your daughter is getting better.  I was talking to my husband just the other day about her.  We were speaking about the old digoxin recall (back in April) that was posted and I was wondering how she was doing.  I'm so glad to hear the good news.  Now hopefully the pac's will ease up too.  :-)  Take care.

That's a great improvement. Is she feeling a difference? Can you see a difference in her energy levels and breathing? Some medications (even though I can't stand pills) are really amazing and do a wonderful job. I'm glad she's found the right mix.
