hypertension

Im a 38 year old female. Until just recently(4 months or so) I have had very low bp. usually 90's/70's.  I have over the last several months had 3 bps 150's/90's and lingering around 138/80-90's.  I have been in premature menopause since age 32 and have taken bcp's as hrt.  I have been experimenting with the pills as I am not tolerating them as well as I used to and I think this is causing irritability and anxiety, as well as sever water retention (i am very thin, i know I have severe water retention because I stopped the pills for 1 month and lost 7 lbs in 2 weeks.) Could any of these things be causing my bp to go up? Could the anxiety cause the high bp or is the high bp causing the anxiety?  And is it the estrogen or the progesterone in the bcp that causes elevated bp?  It seems to go much higher when stop the pill to have a period.  And is this more dangerous for me because it is such an extreme high compared to my normal bp?
Thanks

My mother, who typically runs 120/75 when not stressed, gets readings of around 160/95 and up when in the doctor's office because she HATES the nurses he has.  Personally, I think there are better things in life to get that angry about...but hey, that's me ;)

Anxiety can mess with your blood pressure for sure.
