pacemaker

my mother had a pacemaker installed two weeks ago, prior to the sudden drop in heart rate she was very mobile and active.  Now she cannot walk to the bathroom by herself.  She does not bath herself or even eat.  Does anyone know what complications could arise from the pacemaker.  The heart specialist does not seem concerned about it

If you can't get the attention of the heart specialist, I would suggest taking her to the ER of your hospital.  Your mother's symptoms are not normal after a pacer is inserted.  Also, I'd suggest you reference the card your mother was given by the pacer manufacturer, and call them at once, asking their advice.  All Pacemaker manufacturers have reps available to check  how the pacer is programmed.  I'm not a health professional, but I've had lots of heart issues, including a Pacer.  For whatever reason, my pacer isn't controlling my heart as it was, and I'm meeting both the pacer manufacturer's tech as well as my doctor tomorrow.
Please keep us informed.
