Sub Aortic VSD of 2.8mm

Hi,

I am Purvi from India, I am 25 weeks pregnant and in my Foetal Echo test, doctor informed me that the baby has a 2.8mm Sub Aortic Muscular VSD of 2.8mm. However the heart chambers and blood flow has been normal in the report.
Also all organs have been formed without any disorders and I am having a proper weight gain as well.
I am concerned as to when this hole gets closed, what are the possibilities for the same.
Also how is it going to affect the future life of the baby.
Are there any precautions to be taken.
Can the baby lead a normal life or will there be any kind of lifelong medications or restrictions.
Please help as I am really worried.

Purvi

Hi,

Is there a possibility that it might grow in size.

Hi. Being a muscular VSD, most of these do close on their own after birth and 2.8mm is very small. It can still close up until your child is 10 years of age.
