what is wrong

I am a 45 year old male about 300lbs. and 5-11 in height. I have been having chestpain pressure discomfort for over 2 years. I have been seen by a gastroenterologist and found nothing. I have been seen by two cardiologists who have found nothing. My symptoms are varying chest pain, tightness, pressure. This pain is usually in the center of the chest sometimes spreading to the left and occassionally right. I get very lightheaded & dizzy. Also it is usually accompanied with nausea. This only happens at rest. I have had a standard stress test, ekgs, a bubble study with an echo, a cat scan of the heart and several visits to the ER with nothing showing it is cardiac. Also I have had a MRI of the brain and my carotid ateries ultrasound. What else can this be???? This has had some very serious implications on all aspects of my life.

Thanks for the reply. I am going to Cardiologist again soon. He had one planned then an ER visit prompted a regular stress test about a month ago. So we'll see how he wants to handle the nuclear one. As far as cholesterol I am on meds for it and it is 145-155 total. Not too concerned about that. I agree about exercise need to do more. So far I am told I am in excellent health with the exception of weight obviously.

Understand the implications of such symptoms on your life - very tough to deal with.  Given your weight, I'd be concerned by the symptoms as well.  Don't know what your family history or cholesterol levels are, but your symptoms are concerning.  Have you had a nuclear stress test?  If not, I'd strongly recommend pushing for one.  It is a very good test short of a heart cath for determining whether or not your heart is getting the necessary oxygen, and if not, that indicates a blockage.  I'd also strongly recommend starting a good exercise program and diet, as 300lbs is a lot for someone who's 5'11" to carry.  This is very bad for the heart and by getting in better shape you can help prevent any future problems in the event your current symptoms don't end up being heart related.  Best of luck to you!
