Momto3 and anyone else who can offer input.

May I ask if you experience PVC's any more, and still experience increases and decreases in amounts.  I had an ablation for ventricular bigeminy, but still get some PVC's daily and am wondering if anyone else is having a similar experience.  Do you also find they are still responsive to large meals and all the other triggers?

Thanks!

The very best of luck with your follow up tomorrow Maria. Let us know how it goes ;-)

My cardiologist rang me today to ask how I was doing after the ablation. He said that because the ablated area was on the outside of the heart that it's not always successful. Also he had checked the telemetry from the night in the hospital and said that I was still getting PVC's after the ablation but not as many. He said I'll get notification for the holter in the next week or two as he wants the results before I meet him again in January. As for questions for you tomorrow - I'd ask how he knows that it was successful for you? Also reasons for not giving pain killers! I'd write down my questions before I go in - you're bound to forget some when you're there. I think that because your pvc's were coming from the right ventricle, it gave you shortness of breath. I hadn't this - just dizziness/lightheadedness - I think this happened because the left ventricle delivers oxygenated was causing the dizziness (Trying to do my homework!) Today I also asked him about exercising blood to the rest of the body besides the lungs. In my case not getting enough oxygenated blood again and he said that I could - just to take it easy - so i started today! I am definitely feeling a lot better than this time last week. Still getting a pounding feeling in my chest though but I can live with that. Why aren't you in blue? We could sent messages directly to each other then :-)

Best wishes for tomorrow.

Mostly with the bigeminy (besides the heart stuff)  I had shortness of breath when it was acting up.  Yes I was partially sedated for the ablation.  My IV had infiltrated and they didn't realize it so I didn't get a whole lot, which was probably a good thing, that is why they were more than likely able to get it.  You will be thrilled as you get further down the healing path!

Hi,
I'd an ablation for frequent PVC's in bigeminal pattern just over two weeks ago. I am still experiencing PVC's but thankfully they are not as frequent. I'm due to have another holter monitor for 3 days to record the frequency of them now. I know already that they'll be nowhere near the 25,000 a day I was experiencing. I don't find anything in particular that triggers them. They can happen at anytime really. What symptoms did you experience with the bigeminy before the ablation? Were you sedated for the ablation?

Hi Paul,

My ablations were RFA's.  They were both for pvcs.

Hi u4iachic,

I know what you mean.  When I feel a short run of them, my radar goes off!!  So far, so good though

My ablation for the bigeminy is 2 years ago in April 2008.  I really haven't noticed them too terribly much, but now I am starting to get a couple a day and maybe none the next day, no bigem.  THANK GOD!  I get some after large meals, sugar, lack of sleep, if I am sick and STRESSSSSS  :-).  Sounds like you are experiencing about the same thing, I just wanted to know if someone with a similar experience felt the same way, before I worked myself up.  The  problem is I had a great month and now they are back more frequently.  I cannot complain because they are no where near the way they were.  I really appreciate your response.

I still get pvcs, but only on occasion.  I can usually count on them at certain times, like when I'm going to be flying. But, other than that, they are only now and again.  Caffeine no longer sets them off, but sometimes a lack of sleep or certain foods (MSG or large meals) will trigger some.

After the first ablation, I was still in bigeminy a lot, so they scheduled a second procedure.  That was in the beginning of November and on Christmas Eve (good stress, but nonetheless, stress) I was in bigeminy for at least 6 hours.  I thought the procedure had not worked.  But, after that episode, my pvcs became very infrequent.  It has been 4 years and I can actually listen to my heart while it's in a normal rhythm.

When was your ablation?  I was told it could take several months for things to settle down.
