chest pain with tachycardia

So I've been having a bad heart week.

It started when I had two SVT attacks. Heart rate in the 160's for over 40 minutes, which calmed down, then started again.

Then 2 days later, an IST attack (hr 116) on Feb 28th, but then something happened.

I had chest pain on the left side, that radiated to my left shoulder. It happened last night (March 1st), and Feb 28th, and it was followed by really strong palpitations and flip flopping, and then sinus tachycardia (heart rate of 122).

I'm assuming it's angina, but I am going to bring this up to my cardio tomorrow and my EP today, because I know that it can also mean Pericarditis (which I had last March), and I know it's better to err on the side of caution.

The pain is constrictive, but lucky doesn't last very long. Still, it's rather annoying.

Anyone have experience with this kind of pain?

I've been feeling like **** lately and I just want to feel better =/

I actually get a couple of different kinds of chest pain.

The pressure feelings that spreads to the shoulder is just one example.

Sometimes I feel pain in my left chest, that doesn't radiate, that also feels like a pressure feeling, and then there are times when I feel a sharp stabbing or pinching feeling.

However, I do have leaky valves and I know that can cause chest pain, but my case is ongoing and I will eventually be able to get down to the bottom of it.

Good luck at the doctor's office today. When my tachy (mine runs from 150-198) lasts more than 10 minutes or so, I get a dull ache in my chest but it's not bad. I think true angina feels different. Hope you'll drop in and update us when you get some answers.

the pain lasts for about a minute or so.

the tachycardia I experience takes forever to go away. I have episodes lasting almost an hour, then again, I am clearly having some rhythm problems, and this is seen on ALL of my EKG's.

I think I have only had ONE normal EKG, and that was last year before all this stuff started.

You didn't mention how long the pain lasted. I get pressure in my chest, through to the back, sometimes with my tachy but mine only lasts 10-30 seconds. My cardio was not concerned at all.

Because your heart is acting up so much these past few days it's best to describe it all to your doctor tomorrow. In the meantime, take it easy. If the pain comes and stays for more than a couple minutes, call 911.
