AVNRT ablation

Has anyone had an ablation for SVT cause by AVNRT that did not work the first time? I'm getting very frustrated with my tachycardia issues as it has been really affecting the quality of my life. My EP did an ablation March 23rd for my SVT's and told me it was a success. The very next day when I was getting discharged from the hospital I had what felt like another SVT with the HR in the 180's and was put back in bed and hooked back up to the heart monitor. I blamed it on the heart being irritable from the ablation. The EP told me that I have two things going on with my heart, one being the AVNRT which he told me was cured and the second a bad sinus node which can be ablated but I would likely need a pacemaker after the ablation. Now we are 2 months out from the ablation and I am still having issues of what feels like SVT's. I had one the other night with a HR of 186 and stayed in the 150 to upper 180's for a good 3-4 hours.  Today I had another episode while getting ready for work and went to work feeling like I was hit by a train. I did the ablation to get off my meds but ended up getting put back on Metoprolol 100 mg. twice daily. I was then hospitalized a 3rd time for sustained tachycardia and they changed my meds to Propanolol 120 mg. Went to my cardio yesterday and he increased the Propanolol to 160 mg and added Aldactone 25 mg. twice daily because I was still tachy even after sitting for 1 hour reading a magazine.  Since dealing with the tachycardia I have also developed hypertension. I use to have a perfect b/p prior to last November when this whole nightmare started. I had tachycardia prior to Nov. but for some reason that is when it took a huge turn for the worse and has been that way since.

I don't know if part of this is still AVNRT or if it is all the sinus node tachycardia. I just know that I can't go on living like this. Just playing a little volleyball with my kids gets my HR up and I get the shortness of breath..etc. like I should be in my 90's not 40. Getting more and more ready to have the pacemaker placed.

I was mostly just curious if anyone had a failed AVNRT ablation. I do have something else going on also which I do know but still feel like I am having SVT's yet....and my EP told me I should not have anymore AVT's when he was done with my ablation.

Hi - I have looked back at your previous posts and you seem to have something more than AVNRT, which is well documented on this site, so I am really at a loss to know what else we can tell you, that you already know ...
