Alcohol and Arrhythmia's/medication

I just started Corgard 10 mg, once a day for my Junctional Tachycardia since my unsuccessful ablation.  The medication doesn't seem to be working yet.  We had friends come over this evening and I had 2 drinks in 3 hour period of time and it triggered my tachycardia.  My drinks were measured out, 1 beer and 1 shot, so not a mixed drink where I don't know how much alcohol was in it.  Before the ablation and medication it never bothered my heart, actually I felt better when I drank.  Has anyone else had this happen?  Did it ever change?  Did you just stop drinking?  I can, I'm not even close to an alcoholic, but I enjoy socializing with friends and taking the edge off when I need to relax some.  The doctor said I could indulge, the pharmacist said it was fine as well.  Argh!

(((HUGS)))  I'm sorry you've dealt with all of this too.  So far caffeine has never made a difference, thankfully.  I'm not fond of things that I enjoy being taken away, I guess I'm kind of acting like my toddlers right now  LOL  I'll add this incident to my journal for sure.  I really hope 1 drink will be fine, someday's I want to relax with a drink.

I have not been able to have alcohol in a number of years due to taking Xanax for my afib.  I believe alcohol may be a trigger for some people.  I have also given up chocolate and soda, attempting to avoid episodes -- sigh.  Maybe experiment and see if one drink or just the beer would not trigger an episode.  Good luck with this.
