I think your reaction is very common! However, No "acceptable" formula currently exist to determine Your max HR. What is your heart rate when it spikes? Also, you had an ablation? If so the scare tissue from this might have had something to do with the spike in your HR.
Peace be with you,
Chris.
PS.
Keep in mind im no DR, I just read alot!
Thanks Brandie. That does help. I didn't want to be rushing to the ER everytime it acts up. I'd be there at least once a month!
Well I am new to all of this. But have been in the ER 10 times in the past month and admitted into the hospitol twice. My heart rate will skip up to 160 bpm. Sometimes it only lasts about a minute and then comes down, but sometimes it will last up to an hor. They told me that I should only come in when it has been an hour or longer without dropping back down to a normal range. Hope I was able to help and goodluck. I know it can be scary and frusutrating as heck.
I don't think you are over-reacting at all. You have had VT and an ablation from what I understand. I think you want to know what you are experiencing. I would go to the OR - that's just my opinion. You need some reassurance.
