thank you! I called today and I have to call tommorrow and talk to someone in cardiology and see if they take my insurance, if not, then I have to talk to a financial advisor. I am going to try those options and see what I come up with. Thanks for the advice!
Thank you! I am not working right now due to nursing school and symptoms from my PVCs and my husband just lost his job(go figure) as a truck driver and he is hesitant to leave me here alone and go over the road d/t my health issues. I currently have Illinois Medicaid and if I find out that they do not take this insurance I will try the finacial assistance. I will try the charity program if they won't take my insurance.
Thanks for the advice!
Thanks! I will call the clinic on Monday and see if I can talk with someone. I saw the consult and second opinion info on the website but I can not afford the 500-700 dollars for that service so I am trying to go through my insurance if possible. If not I am going to to try to use that service once I get some extra money.
I tried most of the major clinics when I first started looking for help last July. None of them are in network for my United Healthcare Plan, and it's a great plan, but what was funny was some of the drs at Mayo were covered but I couldn't see at the clinic :P For me it would be $12,000 out of network (up front) versus $3,000 in network.
As Jerry said - check not only the clinic status but the dr also - the other thing is I don't know how much they outsource the OR staff so you may want to check that also, I had a nice surprise on my bill and had to fight to get it fixed.
I am just the person to ask about this. I am in Cleveland right now for about a week having tests done on my heart. I have no insurance. I am getting financial assistance through their charity care program. They are a not for profit facility and if you make under a certain amount of income you can be covered anywhere from 25-100% of your bills. I am completely covered right now because of my situation. Call and ask to talk to a financial advisor about the in house financial assistance program the clinic offers. I flew 2000 miles to get my exams and I am glad I did. I got an appointment days from when I called also. They are number 1 in heart care and that is why I went.
I think they take most insurance. The question I always asked was is the hospital "in network" as that meant better cost control for me. Same for doctors. I always found hospitals to be "in-network", not so for doctors. So, both have to be determined if that is important.
Cleveland has a very strong interactive web site, including an offer to provide consultation for a fee over the internet. I'm sure this web interface will provide methods to answer your questions.
