My son just had a holter test done, he is 4 years old. Doctor said not to worry, he is ok. He would like a follow up in six months. Should I be woried. Before the holter top test the doctor said my son has what is called complete heart block. My son shows no sighn of it at home, as the matter of fact he has a ton of eneregy and dose not get winded or fainting spells. Im confused?

Ask the doctor what the diagnosis is and why he is not worried.  Maybe he will explain what the results of the halter were that set his mind at ease.  I think we do better when we have ALL the information, not simple reassurrances of a doctor telling us not to worry.  I myself was thought to have a slow heart rate.  However, the halter found PVCs which in most cases aren't harmful or dangerous.  I was refered to a cardiologist and after a lot of tests I was assured I'm not in any danger.  I was given some medicine to reduce the amount of PVCs.  (The reason they look like slow heart rate is that they are really extra beats that mask the pulse.  But the halter sees the electrical impulses and realizes your heart rate is right on target. )  If you take my pulse manually it comes out to around 47.  If I'm hooked up to a heart monitor, it is right around 76.  I too don't feel tierd or faint, just a pumping sensation in my chest.  Good luck, I know how scary it is when there is something wrong with our kids.
