I have had pvc's, pac's since I was about 9 years old. I also developed tachycardia after the birth of my first child in my early 20's. Since then, the arrhythmia has gradually become for frequent--I am now 62 years old. I am rarely free of it, and am very sensitive to caffeine, chocolate, and having a full stomach. I have lots of ectopics that sometimes seem like they may be a form of atrial fibrillation. I also have long runs of bigeminy. I have had a holter and echo about 15 years ago, and have been on propranolol since then. The propranalol doesn't seem to be particularly helpful, but I have noticed that when I take a buffered aspirin along with it, my rhythm seems to improve. Does anyone have an answer as to why this may occur? Is it an indicator that I may have some blockage that responds to the blood thinning effects in aspirin. Am I at risk of going into heart failure because of the very frequent ectopic beats?
