EF question

In July 2009 I had an echo done and my EF was 55%.  When I had my PM/ICD implanted in August; it shows Non-Ischemic Cardiomyopathy with an ejection fraction of 45%.

Is almost an 20% drop  in EF in almost 7 weeks alot?

Does this now mean I DO have something wrong with my heart, that its not "structurally" normal?

Now that I've had my ablation, implant and breakdown will my EF start going back up? Or how do I raise it?

My cardio had no records of my cardiac MRI at my appt Friday and didn't even know what the cause was [scratches head] she told me to get with my EP's office or the hospital where it was done.

I got all my records from my EP's office in Sat's mail and did not find the MRI, so I have to wait till next week to call the hospital, hopefully they have the results.  I'm really frustrated I wasn't informed by my doctors of what is wrong with me in a better manner and had to read it on their reports.

Ok I am clueless LOL is that 10% if it was 55% and is now 45% ?  I may have mistyped it and meant 10 not 20 :P

I had a tilt table test & ablation Wed; Cardiac MRI Thurs; Cardiac Cath & PM/ICD implant Fri.  They were looking to rule out ARVD, the cardiomyopathy result was on my PM/ICD report which was the last surgery I had done.

I think after reading I answered my own question though - yes.

I think you mean 10% drop?  Did you ask your doctor what the cause of the cardiomyopathy is?  non-ischemic means it's not related to restricted blood flow, but that still doesn't define the cause.
