Exercise + Alcohol + Creatine Supplementation = ???

Hi, First post. I am 24 year old male. I am very active and have always been throughout childhood, teenage years. I am 5' 10" and started creatine supplementation as I was quite light in my sport (Irish sport called hurling) at 68kgs. After 3 months in the gym (3 times per week) I have increased my weight to 71kg so things are going to plan.

However, due to the fact that I dont see my friends each week until the weekend as I work shiftwork and work out etc, I am prone to consuming a large amount of alcohol at the weekend. (I know, I know!!). The hangovers have got really bad since the gym + creatine and I am wondering what I am doing to my body? I had an exercise stress test last March which I passed with flying colours but on the days when I am hungover, my heart is dropping a beat every 20-30 beats which creates pressure in my chest which is really uncomfortable. I am planning to take it really easy over the Xmas with regards to alcohol because the chest thing scares me to death. Its worth noting that this beat drop also happened in GPs office when I had a fever last December which he said was normal due to fever etc.

I am a body builder who has PSVT, (fun I know), I used creatine for a while to help build muscle mass that I needed badly, it did the trick, but it also caused my hair to fall out, so be careful.  As for the alcohol, stop altogether.  You will find that you will fill better and have less problems with the PVC's

Did you ever get a resolution?  Had the same problem about 3 years ago - I was taking a creatine supplement for several days + drinking (heavily - yes, I know), and had a very bad spell of vomiting, heart arrhythmia.  Since, I've had intermittent problems (PVCs) and am wondering if there might be a connection.  Thanks.

Some of us are very sensitive to alcohol (I'm one of them) and like you i like to keep fit (mine is mountains) so like jerry says find your limit and then keep to it. This is sometimes very very hard but you get the payback with the ability to do much more physically without frightening heart rhythmns

Sounds like you got a good "handle" on what to try.  Drink alcohol in moderation, or not at all, and see what happens.

71 kg up to maybe 75 kg sounds like a good weight for 5'10"...hum seeing you use the English measure for height, I'll do the same for weight: 155 - 165 pounds.
