Heart Palpitations

Hi,

I wonder if anybody can help me regarding PVC’s, below are my questions:
1- I use Antiacid/ calcium supplement + Proton Pump inhibitor to treat my heartburn, acidity. Any link with heart Palpitations (PVCs)
2- Does the frequent of PVCs matters… sometime I have them 3 /minute and sometimes 3 / hour and sometime they just disappear for days  or - I don’t feel them maybe -
3- Does the time my PVCs occur matters, like at rest, after meal, while walking, when nerves, during and after workout/exercise, at bedtime, room temperature related, full stomach / gases
4- My doc tor told me the more I drink water, release my stress, controls my coffee intake and exercise more, my PVCs will be minimized. Is that right?
5- I am a bit anxious about exercising with these PVC’s as I feel there cloud be risk involved, shall I workout?
I am healthy adult otherwise.

I too suffer from PVCs.  I am pretty sure mine are hormone related so I am getting a blood test to check hormonal imbalances.
In answer to your concerns:
1) Calcium, magnesium, potassium and sodium all egulate heartbeat so its possible you may have too much calcium? check with your doctor.
2)Frequency is a hard one - like you, mine also vary eg, yesterday I got 3 in the morning and 1 in the middle of the night after being woken up.
3)Time is another variable - I find I notice mine more resting at night....if i have really busy day, they catch up with me at night.  I often get mine whilst eating a meal, when im tired, hungry, dehyrated and emotional (anxious, excited etc).  I notice them the most when my hormones change at different times of the month.
4)my doctor told me the same about avoiding caffeing (although i really ant live without my Tea, but im trying to cut down lol).  Definately stay hydrated.  Reducing stress is easier said than done, especially when PVC's frighten you and cause you to worry and no-one can give you a straight answer.
5) I too have been terrified to work out for the same reasons and have become very unfit as a result.  I find walking is good and yoga is excellent.  I'm going to get back into swimming too.

Hope this helps!

Hope you get some input form a PVC sufferer.  I suffer from atrial fibrillation.

I think it is fine to exercise, given you have clearance from your doctor.  Just pay attention to your HR and do not exceed your condition... i.e., if you feel weak, or it is hard to breath it is time to slow down or stop.

Drink decaf coffee, if you want to drink coffee.  Avoid caffeine from all sources: e.g. tea, chocolate, coffee...
