Heart Palps and Doctor doesn't seem to care

I am having ongoing and sporatic heart palpitations and have blamed it on my synthroid (hypothyroidism). I feel the sensation of "skipped beats" and sometimes feel a little pressure that goes through to my left shoulder blade. My endo says that this is not caused by the synthroid and I should have my heart checked. But..... I did that and the cardiologist says my heart is fine. He did an EKG, Echo, Holter (sp) monitor and a treadmill test.

Any other heart tests you think I should explore?? This endo is really not helpful!

Thanks!

yw =) it's difficult for sure but can be dealt with, I used to have roughly 50,000 pvc's daily...didn't let it bother me until the muscle in my heart and the pumping capacity was affected, now I'm trying to get back to where I was before to a healthy state =)

I once told my primary I was having chest pains; shortness of breath and felt like my heart was stopping and he told me to lose weight and stop being so lazy LOL I'd like to take my reports where I lost weight and exercised 4-6 times a week sometimes more for over 2 years and my symptoms worsened to where I almost died...

some doctors are just obtuse for lack of a better word =) and not to offend anyone hehehe

thanks for the info. This really makes me feel better! I definitely don't have 6,000 - 8,000 pvc's ~ maybe 3 or 4 a day...... I can live with that. Especially since i've already had my heart extensively tested and it is fine. Thank you so much!!

most of the time[95-99%] arrhythmia's are benign and nothing to worry about if you have a structurally normal heart, they're just a pain to live with and there's tons of triggers and yours may be your thyroid or meds.

Did you get a copy of your test results? If not request them and look them over to see what the dr says; make notes and be sure to ask your cardiologist any questions you have about the test results.

Since yours are sporatic heart palpitations they probably wouldn't do anything to treat them. Normally dr's look at about 6,000 - 8,000 pvc's they treat with meds and anything above 15% of your total daily heart beat on holter monitor they would look at ablation.

You may want to keep a journal and log symptoms, times dates and what you were doing to see if you can find another trigger or pattern for yours.

The only other non-invasive test you can do is a CT scan with contrast dye.  Recently I went through them all and while it is reassuring to know I don't have coronary heart disease the episodic palpitations that I experience still feel like they are going to kill me.  From all the information available sometimes there are no answers.  Savor the PVC free periods.

Well I dont know about anymore tests but I know how you feel. Have you ever just considered that maybe your doctor is right and not worry about them. I know it is easier said then done. But I am starting to believe in my case it is alot worse if I let my mind run away with thoughts of having some sort of horrible heart issues. Just a suggestion! Good luck to you..hope someone can give you the answers your looking for.
