O h, Patty....I really feel for you! I had my ablation 8 days ago on the 22nd. I have been in a-fib, and on Sotalol for 7 of the last 8 days. Well, this morning, I hadn't taken my sotalol which usually makes me feel tightness in my chest and breathlessness ( or it's from the a-fib ). Anyway, I noticed I was breathing normal and my chest felt no discomfort, and I was in NSR at a rate of 72 bpm. I am still so excited...I can hardly stand it! I'm almost afraid to move!
I have a feeling that when that nasty a-fib goes away, like me....you will feel really good. It could go away anytime. Sounds like the vt part of the ablation went pretty well. I think this is all hard on us...hard on our bodies. I find myself craving folate and protein. I'm reluctant to go back on the Sotalol. Just want to keep feeling good.
Oh patty are you sure we didnt use the same dr's and have the surgery at the same time?
I had 50,000+ pvc's & VT, and pretty much the same thing as you - heart stopped 3 times during surgery and had to be zapped, mine was due to Polymorphic VT they thought was genetic and caused by ARVD; did they tell you what caused yours?
I had no pvc's for a few days, but like you developed PAC's then slowly my pvc's returned along with the pac's and vt episodes.
Get a copy of your surgery results and write down any questions you have for your doctor; I wish I had done this to begin with so I got the answers I needed from the doctor who did my surgery.
take care of yourself and hope you feel better soon
On Oct. 5th it will be four years since my ablation...you may want to click onto my profile and read what happened to me...our stories are almost similar...don't bet on the amiodrone yet ....it takes up to six months for your heart to settle down after the ablation Patty....everything you are going thru and feeling is what most of us felt after the ablations...our hearts are re adjusting....they have been poked , prodded, penetrated and zapped and your heart now has to teach itself to beat the right way and stop trying to go back to the wrong way....you just had your ablation...you have to try to stay calm and let the healing take place. You are going to feel like the VT is going to start up again and won't, you may get short runs of atrial fib, you will get funny feelings in your chest, you will get dizzy, you will feel a little weak a few times....how did mine work out for me...well once i got past the scary parts and the doc put me on a low dose of antenolol to help me get thru the rough spots i got my life handed back on a golden platter Patty...i think that the hardest part was being so scared that it was a fail when i wasn't...i could have sworn it was a couple of times and now here i am...posting back at you telling you that you have to be patient and not go from A to Z in under 10 seconds...its wayyyy too soon to tell....relax, try to divert yourself and also remember that you are not the navigator here only the passenger like we all were...ablations are super successful and if your doc feels like the caught it have a little faith........we are here for you anytime Patty.....only good thoughts my friend don't bad ju ju yourself.....
