What you have to do is get you blood pressure down. I am not familiar with Telmisarten 40, but assume it is a beta blocker or other medication that lowers blood pressure, and likely also pulse rate.
High blood pressure can over a long period of time cause heart enlargement and many associated arrythmia problems, and in the worse case congestive heart failure. That's what understand.
That said, 5'8" and about 175 pounds (English - and I assume you are using feet and inches for your height) is still overweight. It may be if you can lose another 10 kg your BP will drop into a safe range.
If you're drinking a lot of coffee or drinks with caffeine in them, it's a good idea to cut down, as that sometimes raises blood pressure. Same thing goes for heavy use of salt at the table or eating lots of salty snack foods. Good luck.
It's almost 1 year I left smoking, coffee and heavy use of salt. I had loose weight also even then the blood pressure was same and my doctor said it's genetic so take medicine "Telmisartan 40".
Good for you for quitting smoking, coffee, and high salt intake--and for losing weight.
Are you physically active on a regular basis (like walking 30-45 minutes 5 or 6 times a week)? Exercise may help to bring your blood pressure down.
Also, do you drink milk or eat yogurt every day? Because they have calcium in them, these foods can help control blood pressure, too. (Nonfat types are best, and look for yogurt that has Vitamin D listed on the label.)
What about alcohol use? Too much alcohol can raise blood pressure, as can stress.
Hello thanx for response.
I dont drink alcohol and yogurt is my favorite. Yogurt is necessary too for vitamin B family as I am vegetarian and to cope up with depression I need it.
Finally I dont go for walk as I m lazy .... so I have to do this final thing for sure.
Thanx n regards
