Ablation and alcohol?

Hey all.
I've just been wondering about something. I have had an ablation and was wondering how long I should wait untill having an alcoholic drink? I'm not a big drinker and can go without for a good month or so. But I ask about it as,i have a friends hen weekend in january and sge is having a cocktail making eve. I was just wondering if I would be ok to have a couple? I wont be on any meds. I'm only on asprin for 6 weeks at the moment.

No time. If you're recovered from the anesthesia, have a drink. Don't ask us - listen to your body. I'd not recommend getting wrecked the day of your procedure, but to each his own.

Thanks for the advice. I'm actually seeing my eo dr before the hen weekend so will double check. Like I said i'm not a big drinker anyway so I should be ok with a little. before I had the ablation I noticed also that a good night out would result in palputations during the night. So i've always been careful.

To be honest I don't think there are any restrictions though I would say if you notice drinking makes you feel worse then stop.  I have to say I did not realize I would get some sinus tachycardia after drinking hard liqueur.  It doesn't happen with beer but I had some hard liqueur about 6 months past my ablation, woke up to some tachycardia in the 140s and realized that a few of those episodes I had after some partying may not have been my svt after all.  So now I know to avoid hard liqueur or take the chance of having a bit of tachycardia.  But in general I don't think it is an issue to drink if your meds don't caution against it.  I am actually not sure whether or not drinking and aspirin is an issue.  But if it isn't then I would think you would be fine.
