Medication for tachycardia and heart disease

My History:  Diagnosed with tachycardia two years ago, mild heart disease of 20% blockage in two arteries year and half ago.  I am 34 year old male and weigh 132 lbs.  I cycle quite a bit now after finding out about the heart disease.  Total Cholestrol 121, LDL 61, HDL fluctuates between 36 and 45.  Medications on:  Metroprolol 25MG to control tachycardia, Lipitor 20MG, Niaspan 1000MG, Nexium 40MG, 81MG aspirin every three days because once a day caused petechia, Krill oil, Depakote 125MG and Klonopin .5MG at bedtime.  Had calcium score done a few months ago and score went from 20 (two years ago) to 19 (now).  I seem to be doing a good job except for the HDL.  I have been doing some research and have read that Metroprolol can lower HDL.  My Cardiologist stated that I could switch from Metroprolol 25MG to Diltazem 120MG.  (Resting Heart rate anywhere from 65-80) My only fear is that I have been told the Beta Blocker is better if you have Known heart disease.  Can you give me your opinion.  My HDL/LDL ratio is good so should I worry about it.  HDL alone is a risk factor I know.  Blood Pressure is good and Tachycardia is mostly under control.  I can exercise and get heart rate to 160, but not much above that which is good.  Would it be good to switch to help raise HDL or should I stick with the Beta Blocker?

Just read that Metoprolol can lower HDL.  Sometimes my HDL will get in the upper 30's which is below the normal 40 that is suggested.  Worries me because I have two people I know that have had heart attacks and their LDL was in the 60's.  Their HDL was low (below 30) which doctor told them that this allow caused their buildup.  I want to get HDL up and I exercise daily, eat fish twice a week, take Niaspan, and Krill oil.  Thinking the Metoprolol is the issue.  Just looking to see if anyone else has seen their HDL drop when put on Metoprolol.

25MG is low, was on 100MG...  The cycling and exercising has allowed me to lower it.  Can't come off of it because my heart rate will shoot up in on none.  :)

Your cholesterol numbers sound good to me.  Metoprolol at 25 mg is a very low dose, some may take lower, I have never been lower that 50 mg myself and my cholesterol numbers are similar to yours.

Sorry if I missed your point, but I think you seem to be doing rather well with what you are doing.
